On The Inside: Featuring Lisa Ng of This Beautiful Day

This week I'm kicking off a new series called On The Inside.

When you get a glimpse into a someone's bag, you find out something about who they are - what they value, what makes them tick, and more. On The Inside will bring together fashionistas, artists, athletes and other inspiring women to talk about what's important to them. And give us a glimpse into the things they carry every day!

To get started right, Lisa Ng of This Beautiful Day is taking us through her gorgeous Marc Jacobs bag and all the things she can't live without. I met Lisa at a swanky LA event and immediately adored her! She's a vivacious and stylish go-getter. You'll love her too! Take it away Lisa:

I’ve been very fortunate to have travel be a part of my job as a lifestyle blogger and freelance writer. Hence, I’m always on the go for my blog - This Beautiful Day, a lifestyle blog for smart women - that I am always looking for cool stories to share with my readers. I keep a pretty stocked bag when I travel, here’s what you’ll usually find in it when I’m off on an adventure!

The Bag - Marc Jacob’s Francesca bag ("Fran" for short) in large. I fell for this bag because it fits my 13” Macbook Pro. I definitely didn’t want a boring old black leather laptop bag, I wanted something that could be a purse/carry-on and laptop bag in one. I love that there are two short straps and one long crossover strap when I need both hands for luggage or even shopping. I have a pretty brown leather colour which goes with everything (pictured in black below so you can see the size!). It’s been quite durable over the years and fits easily under the seat in front of me when I fly - so I’m never searching for overhead bin space on packed flights!

Chimes Ginger Chews - I tend to get seasick, air sick and car sick, so I always have these natural ginger chews handy when I’m on the go. I don’t know if it actually does anything, but they make me feel better and they taste really good without being too spicy.

Alba Coconut Cream Lip Balm - I love the creaminess of this nourishing lip balm. It reminds me of the beach! My lips get the driest when I travel.

Clean & Clear Blotting Sheets - I have combination skin and my face gets super oily by midday, so I always have these blotting sheets for quick touch-ups.

Neutrogena Lip gloss + Pressed Mineral Powder - This is my go-to make-up line because it’s gentle, has SPF and is inexpensive if I drop or lose any of the product. I carry the powder to deal with any shine and both my lip gloss and powder are loaded with SPF, which is great for dealing with the California sun.

iPhone 5 - I never leave home without it. It’s how I run social media for my blog and clients when I’m on the go. It’s also loaded with a chill-out mix of music that I play when I get on a plane because I’m a total nervous flyer.  I use to carry an SLR with me when I traveled, but now I rely on the camera on my cell phone for shots.

Kind Bar - I don’t functional at all when I’m hangry. I always keep a Kind Bar in my purse when my energy is fading and I need a snack. It saves me between meals or when I have packed day of running around. My favourite has to be the blueberry vanilla bar.

Business Cards - I ordered these cute little rectangular cards from Moo.com and I always get compliments on them. I like that they are memorable. Since I’m new to LA - I never know who I am going to meet, so I try to keep in touch with new friends and contacts by always have my business cards on me.

I'd love to hear, what’s in your bag?
