I can't believe it's back to school time! Headed back to grad school? Here's what you need to get off to a bright start:
1) A great big bag
You're going to be toting around all kinds of stuff, so start with a bag that can get the job done. I'd suggest a large Le Pliage by Longchamp. It's lightweight, has tons of room, and the long handles will save your back when your professor makes you carry all those textbooks to class. Save yourself some money by getting it pre-loved from Twice, the online secondhand store.
2) Brightly colored lip gloss
You have the best intentions now, but we both know sometime this semester you'll wake up late and run to class with your pjs on. Ok maybe not that bad, but there are definitely un-stylish days! Fix those in a pinch with a great bright lip gloss. I'm a big fan of NARS, the color will stay with you for hours.
3) Makeup bag
You'll need something for the pens, perfumes, unmentionables, whatever you need to keep track of in that big bag. I'm partial to this Henri Bendel stiped number, but you can find something just as good at Target.
4) Notebook
You're in school after all! Take old fashioned notes to a whole new level with a fancy notebook. You'll feel smarter and you'll make friends fast! This Kate Spade polka dotted notebook makes me want to dance with a pen.
5) iPad
If I was going to a desert island, I'd take my iPad (I even included it in my survival kit). I can't live without this thing! You'll use it more than you think, trust me. All my textbooks and PDFs in one place? Yes please! My iPad went everywhere with me for two years and I still can't put it down.
6) Reusable water bottle
Staying well hydrated will help your brain! Carry a cute bottle to help you remember to drink water during class. Tip - when you stop for your morning Starbucks, pick up a juice and pour half of it in. Fill the rest with water and voila! A delicious beverage that packs a hydration punch. Save the rest for the afternoon sugar crash, you'll need it.
